Kori and Monica B's contact

Wow! I just spoke to Kori and Monica and had yet more trips down memory lane! Kori plans to attend our reunion and is requesting tickets from TACA as we speak. Monica has 4 children (9, 3ish, 14 mo, and 5 weeks. YIKES!). They are all boys and during our 10 minute conversation one busted a lip in the pool and another fell into the pool filter. She wonders if they will all be like Troy! :) Her husband is out to sea (he is a sea captain) and she manages all this and teaches as well!!! You go girl! She is bummed at the prospect of missing the reunion and may find a way to get down after all. Monica B, we all completely understand if you can't, trust me!

Anyway, Kori's email is korija70@yahoo.com and Monica's is monicaloca@mchsi.com. Monica R, can you send an invitation to them por favor?

Monica B's phone #'s are 850-450-8838 and 850-936-6492. Please send them a message. I know they would both love to hear from all of you.

We found Adrian Lanza!

Ricardo Coto put Adrian in touch w/ me today and we had a very nice conversation. He has been living in Houston for the last 4 1/2 years and works in the real estate division of a credit union. He promises to post some pics and info soon. His sister Patty has 2 children and Maritza has 1. Their parents are also in Houston.

Monica, will you please send him an invite to the blog?

His contact info is klanza@houston.rr.com or alanza@fccuhouston.org. His phone #'s are 281-856-5531 or 832-620-2125. Bienvenido Adrian!

I am about to call Kori. Her # is 305-542-3595 should anyone also wish to call. She should lead us to Monica Bocock.

Back from Grand Cayman

Hola chavos! We just got back from Grand Cayman and had a wonderful time. Andrew and I got to go to Stingray city, which is a huge gathering spot for these amazing creatures. They would literally suck the squid we brought along for food right out of your hand. Weird!! We also went on a night snorkel adventure and saw more stingrays. lobsters, a moray eel, squid, cow fish, and various other night creatures. Elizabeth enjoyed the 4-7 year-old kid's club and made some new friends as well. Mom and Matthew were happy to relax by the pool with grandma Rowe. Hope everyone is well and I can't wait to see y'all!!

I guess blogs can be attacted by viruses too...

There are several anonymous comments being posted that I'm pretty sure are bogus. Que lastima.

Pictures speak volumes, don't they?

Que guapas estan las chicas de 1984! Carlos, no te caigas! Shanon, despertate hombre!

ACLARACION

If any of you wants administrative access (and some of you have said that you do), that is very easy to do. Just tell me and I will add you as an administrator.

The idea of the blog is that we can all contribute, talk to each other, and be one big happy family!

No nos hagamos bolas por gusto, ¿sí?

Shanon

And here is a snapshot of Shanon on his recent tour.....isn't he cool?

Los Powers

This is my husband, Ty. Ya lo tengo un poquito mareado hablándole de EILL, but he's being a good sport. Este mes cumplimos 14 años de casados.
También van unas fotos de mis sobrinas Edith (with some friends on her birthday) and Tere. They are 13 and 8.5, and the loves of my life, even though I don't get to be around them as often as I'd like.

Edith (center) and Teresa...

Matthew Henna Rowe at 9 months

Here is our youngest bundle of joy smiling for Daddy. See Shanon, in 9 short months, your son will be sitting up and crawling all over the place! Hector, I love the picture of you guys in Germany! You sure have been there quite a while. Have a good weekend everyone.

Che!

Che pibes! Insolito! Me parece recontrbarbaro!

Friendly reminder to Ex-pats

Only 4 weeks to reunion! If you have not made your travel reservations, you may want to ASAP. Prices typically jump up once you get inside the 21 day window. Also, if you need a hotel room, Lidia (once she gets better) can probably help you get a room at the Princess hotel. The rooms are very nice, they have a fantastic breakfast buffet and it is conveniently located off circumvalacion in SPS.

La Lima Class of 1984

La Lima Class of 1984
I think I finally figured it out. yes, I'm slow, bear with me!
I'm trying to remember cool memories, but as I was usually out on the bench, I guess I can't partake as much. My memories are more about what happened outside of school...climbing the tree in Mark's backyard, Lidia and Monica having a "detective" club (along with a million other clubs throughout the years), the tires behind the bathrooms where we played star wars, making clay images of that weird creature from "Clash of the titans" and eating "palomitas" every afternoon at the club. I also remember Rolando's passion for hamburgers!
Anywho, about me...since I am a bit egocentric: Work as a leasing agent, while going to school part time. You may all remember, I was never a star student, so I avoided college for a long time. But, after waking up from a long party, I realized I had no future and nothing to show for the thirty odd years I've been alive, so I did the adult learning thing.
I have a ten year old, who is my total opposite (thank God!) and is truly the light of my life.

"and that's all I have to say about that"

Thought starters...

Do you guys remember these activities?

8th grade field trip to the lake?

bowling and trying to get the pins to hit the pinboys?

cooking class?

a certain soccer game where I fouled a kid and his dad grabbed a gun from the car and I had to hide in my mom's classroom? Ok, maybe I remember this just a little more vividly than you might!

The first birthday parties at night, slow dancing, declaraciones, etc?

Monica's brother Enrique's bionic arm?

field trip to Lancetilla?

Swim meets, soccer, basketball, volleyball games vs. EIS, La Valle?

El puente negro?

Fireworks at Christmas and New Years?

That sounds pretty good, actually. O Pulapanzac? Copan may be a bit far...

Everyone Welcome Joseph Aycock!

Hi Joseph! I'm so glad you joined the blog website thingy... still trying to figure this thing out. Please post a little about yourself and everyone please join to welcome Joseph!

Due to floods and hurricanes that we suffered in La Lima I lost all my pictures, so I encourage whoever has old pictures to scan them and post them here.

Recognize this place?

Update on Scott Rowe y mas

I was talking to Scott about the upcoming reunion and it occurred to me that it might also be a good time for him to sneak down for a quick visit. A "rush" passport application later, and he will be coming down too, so please advise any of his classmates you might come in contact with! Scott graduated from Texas A&M and lived in college station up until 1 month ago. He has corresponded with a fellow Limeno, Oscar Zelaya, who lives in Memphis, TN and moved up last month for a change of scenery. I can't say I blame Scott for wanting to get out of Aggieland (Spoken by a rival UT Longhorn!). He is enjoying Memphis and reconnecting with some Catrachos.

I have been going back to Honduras every 2 years or so with a group of doctors, nurses, and dentists as a translator and to provide logistical support. We travel to remote villages and see approx. 1500 people per visit. It has been a great opportunity for me to give back a little and see some beautiful parts of the country I would not have otherwise seen. If anyone is interested in helping, translators are most welcome! You can log on to www.medico.org for more info.

This picture is from my visit last April with Virgilio and his family. I also got to see Wilton Thompson, his wife Dana, and their 2 daughters at the pool. Also, Maritza was in town with her son. Yes, the tallest person in the back is Mauricio Moncada!

¡Bienvenida, Yvette Levi!

I found an email on the web and was crossing my fingers that I had the right Yvette...but then again, she's pretty unmistakable!

I've invited her to the blog and hope she will give us the Yvette update soon.

Recuerdos...

I know Lidia and Monica will be thrilled to see the Menudo posting. Shanon, do you have any of their music that you can bring down to liven up the party?

They came out with a movie, didn't they? Does anyone remember trying to get into the "Cine Imperial" without facing Lidia's grandmother? Those scornful looks!! Maybe we can go see a movie there on Saturday night for "old times sake"?

I also remember all the peliculas chinas "Pata 'e Mula" would bring in. It is no wonder my parents would never go see movies at the club! Good popcorn, though...and you could always sign the "vale" for all the cokes you could drink! Dona Mina and Guzman fixed a mean hamburger too. Ahhh...those were simpler days.

I'm going to go through my Mom's albums and see what wonderful pictures I can dig up and post. Some should be priceless!

The Guillen Family

Hi, everyone this is my wife Nancy Oyuela and my 3 year old daughter Samantha. Nancy is a great honest person and is loving mother to Carlos and Samantha. Sometimes she has to multiply her patience and efforts like all mothers I believe know. By the way happy mother's day to the mommys. Carlos is a second grader and is 7 years old, he's doing great in school. Samantha is a pre-kinder student both are in a bilingual school called "HOLY FAMILY" here in San Pedro Sula. We live in "Colonia Juan Ramon Molina" which is located on the northern part of the city following the road to Puerto Cortes. You are all welcomed to my home. I work for a company that does plastic bottles, hangers and all types of home plastic utilities. These are some photos of my family and me. I hope to see you all on the reunion, we have a lot of catching up to do.
